VISUAL FACILITATION & GRAPHIC RECORDING

Free. 45 minutes. No pitch deck.

People walk into our sessions guarded and walk out heard. Lizard Brain runs conversations where everyone in the room, not just the loudest person, gets listened to and sees their thinking reflected back visually.

They leave with the confidence to act on it.

ROOMS WE’VE HELD

We make people feel heard.

Everything we do is visual. But we don't just draw. We run rooms where the quiet ones get heard as clearly as the loud ones.

  • Smart people don't automatically make smart groups.

  • Listening is a skill, not a formality.

  • An idea judged by who said it is an idea judged unfairly.

  • You should leave a meeting more confident than you walked in. There. We said it.

Above all, we hold the space for you to be heard.

WHAT WE DO

Three ways to make thinking visible.

We guide the room and make the group's thinking visible, together.

Real-time visual capture of your session, live on the wall as it happens

Learn to run the room and draw out the thinking yourself.

NOT SURE WHICH ONE YOU NEED?

Got a request? Want a quote?

Your group already knows the answer. It is sitting in four different heads, in four different words, and nobody can see it. We design and run sessions where the thinking goes up on the wall as it happens, so a strategic plan or a ten-year vision stops being hypothetical and starts being something people can point at, fix, and agree to.

In person or virtual, anywhere in the country. Based in Washington, DC and working nationwide. We bring the paper to your offsite or the canvas to your screen, and the room works the same either way.

WHERE WE WORK

In the room or on the screen, wherever your people are.

In-person visual facilitation across the US

We travel to your offsite, conference or command, anywhere in the United States. Paper goes up on the wall, the group works standing, and the projects stay in the room for the whole session. Based in Washington, DC, working nationwide.

Virtual visual facilitation for distributed teams

Same methods, built for a screen. Live drawing on a shared canvas, breakouts that actually produce something, and a visual record everyone can open the next morning, whatever time zone they are in.

A VISUAL FACILITATION CASE STUDY

This is what your thinking looks like.

In 2025, we facilitate the American Institute of Architects’ strategic plan. During the design process, we identified that the strategic plan should have:

  • a recent history of AIA,

  • a look at the environmental context of architecture,

  • a vision for the future,

  • bold steps to achieve that vision,

  • proposed projects supporting each step, and

  • a time-bound implementation roadmap for the project milestones.

We designed visual templates to mirror each section of the strategic plan. We set up the templates inside the National Building Museum. We used no PowerPoints or presentations. Participants came ready to work. We facilitated each conversation and captured the process. Each table was made up of diverse representatives. They came up with, combined, and tested their best ideas to plan the way ahead.

Somebody says the thing that changes the whole conversation, and by the afternoon nobody can remember who said it or how they put it. Our recorders stand at the wall and catch it while it is being said, in the words your people actually used, so the good part of the meeting does not leave with them.

We stay quiet. No steering, no interrupting: one person drawing while your meeting runs exactly the way you planned it. On large-format paper or a projected digital canvas, in person or virtual, anywhere in the country.

HOW IT SHOWS UP

Paper on the wall, or a canvas on the screen.

In-person graphic recording across the US

Large-format paper goes up before your people arrive and stays up all day, so the group can walk over at a break and argue with it. We travel to your offsite, conference or command anywhere in the United States. Based in Washington, DC, working nationwide.

Virtual graphic recording for online meetings

The project is drawn live on a projected digital canvas your group can watch fill up on their own screens, then lands in their inbox at full resolution while the meeting is still fresh.

FROM THE WALL

Recent projects

No PowerPoint. No lecturing. Training designed for the way adults learn: experiencing, participating, and sharing insights.

We train groups in visual facilitation, design thinking, strategic planning, leadership and team development, decision making, facilitation, and virtual facilitation.

We train for learning, change, and impact.

“What you created for our very first conference was nothing short of extraordinary. You didn’t just organize an event, you designed an experience. One that invited genuine learning, sparked meaningful connection, and made space for joy and energy to fuel deeper conversations. That combination is rare—and you delivered it beautifully.”

Susan L., the Mid-Atlantic Facilitators Network

“I’ve been in corporate America since 1983 and I’ve been supporting CEOs since 1998 and I have to say, this was the best facilitated event I’ve ever been a part of. We covered A LOT of ground… to be so plugged in, so quickly and to fearlessly press people for the appropriate engagement necessary for the right outcome every single day is just remarkable.”

Jana D., Defense Contractor

“Beyond technical skill, the Lizard Brain staff are incredibly personable and professional. They are excellent listeners, quickly grasp topical nuances in real-time, and adaptive to our audience’s needs. Lizard Brain’s team and work is top-notch, and the positive, collaborative spirit added so much value to the event.”

Michael H., the MacArthur Foundation

“We wanted to thank you again for joining the session yesterday and for the incredible work you did. In fact, several people at my table specifically asked me to follow up with them once your work was available. I think that speaks to how well you captured the most important insights and key takeaways from the session. Thank you again for your amazing work. We truly appreciated having you as part of the session and look forward to sharing the results with our stakeholders.”

Bridget S., Accenture

Every perspective in the room

We design the session to get it all on the table. Not just the loudest voice.

We listen before we suggest

No fixed outcome walking in. We move forward with what the group actually wants.

You leave with a different reality

Not just a new idea. A changed sense of what's actually achievable.

DISCOVERY CALLS, NOT SALES CALLS

You feel it in the first 5 minutes. Walk away with something you can use.

Most facilitators pitch you a process. We start doing the work while we're still on the phone. By the time the call ends, you're not holding a proposal. You're holding something you can use tomorrow.

Free. 45 minutes. No pitch deck.

01

You tell us what the group is stuck on. We listen first.

02

We sketch the shape of a session live, on the call.

03

You leave with something usable, whether you hire us or not.
