Are You Just Surviving Through Horrible Meetings?
If you’re frustrated by pointless meetings and wasted time where everyone talks in circles and nothing actually happens, you’re not alone.
This workshop is for you if:
You find participants are disengaged and derail your meetings.
A few people dominate the conversation, while other people don’t participate at all.
You or your team leave meetings feeling drained and unenthusiastic about the work ahead.
There’s bad “meeting hygiene” happening: people show up late, disrupt the meeting, or don’t pay attention.
There’s little clarity as to HOW decisions will be made, and LESS clarify about who’s doing what.
With the threats and uncertainty facing organizations today, you can’t afford to waste time and energy in bad meetings.
There is a better way.
Smart people don’t make smart decisions. Smart teams do.
Learn how to turn a group of smart people into a high-performing team of problem solvers.
Imagine Gaining the Skills and Confidence to Make Meetings Move
You walk into your next meeting knowing how to make ideas visible, guide collaborative work, and help a group make decisions.
Your visual facilitation skills give you portable and durable skills to strengthen your current work and position you for future growth.
Just Imagine:
How accomplished you’ll feel when the two coworkers who regularly talk over each other in the meeting are able to visualize what they’re saying and reach agreement.
You shift the conversation from off-target arguments to a problem-solving conversion and walk away with a potential solution.
You successfully use a visual method to anchor the group process and guide the conversation toward your desired outcome.
You have the materials and visual skills ready to pivot in the moment and introduce the right method to help the group process.
Are you ready to build your visual facilitation skills?

FAQ:
Q: Is this workshop for me?
Think With Ink™ is for anyone who wants to build a repertoire of visual tools, bring visual and participatory methods to a team, or help clients solve problems in a visual manner.
This workshop is for coaches, facilitators, team members and leaders, consultants, and visual thinkers.
Q: Will this teach me how to graphic record?
Graphic recording is large-scale visual notetaking. By contrast, visual facilitation uses visual methods to help move a group through a decision-making process. Although you can apply many of the graphic facilitation methods in Think With Ink™ to graphic recording, we will emphasize the visual group processes rather than on the aesthetic side of graphic recording.
Q: This is a good chunk of time and money! Is it worth it?
We understand. Making the case to your boss (especially if you’re your boss!) about the value of investing in your professional development can be challenging. But consider the impact three-days of intensive hands-on training will have on your career and future. Visual facilitation skills are durable, transferable, and powerful tools which will give and give for years to come.
Also, consider the cost of continuing to struggle with dysfunctional team meetings, not making decisions, and attending calls where the conversation circles for an hour and ends up nowhere.
Think With Ink™ is a practice-driven workshop giving you everything you need to visually facilitate a group through the toughest challenges.
Sounds like a great deal to us.
Q: How many people will be in this workshop? How much individual attention will I get?
The capacity of this workshop is 24 people, so each participant will receive plenty of individual feedback and support.
Q: What do I bring to the workshop?
A willingness to learn new skills, practice in a safe space, and share with others. Feel free to bring your stories, favorite tools, examples, and experiences.
Working with markers and ink means you might end up with a few ink stains so wear clothes you’re willing to learn in.
You might also bring a water bottle, lunch, and a layer.
Q: What is the plan for lunch?
We’ll be taking a lunch break each day, but lunch will not be provided. Please plan to bring your lunch. There are microwaves and refrigerators available to store and heat your food. There is a nearby shopping center if you prefer to buy lunch.
Q: Where is the workshop? Is there parking? What about metro access?
The workshop is located in Herndon, VA near the Dulles Airport. There is ample complimentary parking and it’s a short walk from the Innovation Center Metro. The exact location will be shared after registration.
Q: What happens after I sign up?
You’ll get a welcome email and more logistical details.
Q: What about payment plans? What about refunds if my plans change?
Please reach out if you’d like to arrange a payment plan. All payments must be completed before the beginning of the workshop.
No refunds will be issued within two weeks of the workshop.
Q: What if I have more questions?
Please email Brian at brian@lizardbrain.com if you have any questions or schedule a 30-minute call with him to see if this workshop would be a good fit.
