Brainwriting
Here’s a spin on brainstorming that provides lots of possible solutions to challenges while making space for all the voices in the room.
In one minute, each participant writes a problem, challenge, or question at the top of a piece of paper. Everyone passes that paper in the same direction to the next person. In thirty seconds, everyone writes a potential solution, answer, or resource under that initial problem, along with their name in case the problem writer wants to have a follow up conversation. Pass the papers again. Write answers again. Pass again. Write again.
You can repeat this as often as you like, but I find groups tend to burn out of ideas after the 10th pass or so.
Give participants time to seek out and converse with the authors of the answers they like.
