The 4 Ps: We’ve decided, now what?
The 4 Ps are a classic marketing tool that, with a little tweaking, can also be a helpful exercise once a group has decided on the actions they want to take.
PRODUCT
PRICE
PLACE
PROMOTION
The Target Audience are the beneficiaries or stakeholders the action will most impact.
Behavior is the change expected from the Target Audience as a result of the action.
Product (or service) is the idea or action the group has decided to take. In the template, have the group write the value or benefit that the group hopes to achieve from the action.
Price is the cost, not just in terms of dollars, but any resources: time, organizational assets, people, technology… whatever it will take to make the idea happen.
Place is where in the organization or its environment the action will happen: the people that will be responsible for doing it, the system/s that will support it, the leaders that will be accountable for it.
Promotion is how the action will be communicated to the stakeholders.
